TED'S GOALS AS MAYOR
- A THREE YEAR ROLLING BUDGET for better fiscal planning. We will accomplish this goal by first preparing a three year financial forecast. This will require working closely with Village staff employees, Council Members (Finance Committee), and possibly involving a blue ribbon panel for community expertise and input.
- RESOLUTION OF UNION CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS to preserve our premier Public Safety Department. Working with Village staff and fellow Council Members, we will resolve the impasse involving the union negotiations by finding a compromise that both parties can accept.
- OPERATIONAL AUDIT OF OUR VILLAGE EXPENSES to eliminate unnecessary and redundant costs. We will accomplish this by a detailed line by line review of the expenses, and review supporting documentation to increase operational efficiencies. Economies of scale with the other Grosse Pointes will be investigated;however,we will not sacrifice our premier Grosse Pointe Shores signature services.
- TRANSPARENCY to better inform residents of important issues. We will accomplish this goal by televising all important public meetings, such as commission meetings, Finance Meetings, and Council Meetings.
- VISIONARY PLANNING FOR GPS to improve our property values. We will accomplish this by upgrading our tennis courts, pool, and repair two of our roads, Lochmoor and Sunningdale. We need to proactively collaborate with local realtors and large corporations to attract residents to move to our premier community.
